Controller

The elevator controller is the brain of the system, it automatically controls speed, direction, lights doors, and other relevant devices, it’s also in charge of monitoring the input/outputs for its safety devices. Most new. system utilize advanced PLC software and algorithms to improve and maximize transportation efficiency within a given building.

SmartRise C4

G.A.L eHydro Controller

Much like the GAL IV controller, the eHydro is built upon the same architecture that drive the traction controller. A new user interface and board design has been developed to ensure maximum safety, simplicity and long term reliability. The eHydro is the newest addition to the G.A.L. family and we are happy to see its arrival.

Application: Supports in-ground hydraulic, telescoping hydraulic, roped hydros.

Feedback: Absolute position/distance feedback capability

Dispatch: Up to 8 Car group

Max Openings: 12 floors

Max Speed: 150 fpm

Machines - Traction

The traction machines are the main moving devices of the elevator system. They come in 2 variations: geared which couples a motor (either AC or DC) to a worm gear connected to a crown where by which a sheave is turned and gearless which essentially couples a sheave directly to the motor (either AC or DC). Gearless machines are typically more expensive as they are more energy efficient, are easier to maintain as no oil is required, significantly more reliable and are typically installed on high speed - high rise installations.

Application: Standard geared modernization projects, Overhead & Basement machine rooms.

Imperial (Nidec) provides high quality U.S. made machines. Originating from Tokyo Japan these units have been manufactured and built to extremely high standards, Many high end, high speed buildings across the world utilize these machines.

Torin Gearless

Torin TMGL & TGL gearless series provide extremely high versatility and performance while minimizing space. These units are ideal for both MRL (Machine room less) applications and High Speed - High Rise installations.

Applications: 1:1 & 2:1 (single and double wrapped)

Speed: 100 FPM - 2,000 FPM

Capacity: 1,000 lbs - 6,000 lbs

Hollsiter Whitney Gearless

USA made Hollister Whitney Gearless, much like the imperial machine, the Hollister Whitney Gearless machine is of the disk style. They are highly regarded for their performance and reliability.

 

Power Units & Valves

Hydraulic Elevator utilize oil reservoirs known as Power Units or Pump Units. These larger metal tanks typically include a pump, a motor, a muffler and a valve. The motor drives the pump and builds pressure which is then controller by the electronic valve. The muffler is used to prevent excessive noise from propagating within your building.

iTi Hydraulic - Submersible

This compact and versatile model is suitable for most projects in addition to being very economic. Our hydraulic power units are designed to work with both our products and existing installations.

Advantages:

  • Compact and economical (excellent quality vs price ratio).

  • The perceived noise level is mitigated with the installation “anti-vibration” pads.

  • Completely customizable, the power unit can be installed easily with all types of configurations.

  • Compatible with products from competitors (ideal for a replacement!).

iTi Hydraulic - Dry

The top model pushes the standards of performance, power and reliability. Entirely handmade according to your needs, the hydraulic unit will meet the requirements of high quality facilities. This type of configuration includes measures used to reduce noise, thereby promoting a more “peaceful” usage.

Advantages:

  • The components are installed outside the tank and are protected by rigid guards installed at the most critical points of the assembly.

  • Large space application, large industrial projects

MAXTON Valve

The Maxton UC hydraulic elevator control valve is the most common elevator control valve for low flow hydraulic elevator applications. Use the Maxton valve calculator for valve sizing to the job specifications. The UC valve was designed to meet the demands of the hydraulic elevator industry, featuring individualized adjustments, high efficiency solenoids, an integrated relief valve and more. JACK port is located to the right - TANK port straight across to the left - PUMP port at the bottom. Solenoid - Square pattern.

 

Drive Systems

The Drive system sometimes referred to as the inverter is used to efficiently control the motor with maximum precision. These drives take incoming voltage, load it to a DC bus then use PWM (pulse width modulation) to create AC sin waves used to control speed.

KEB Combivert F5 - Non Regen

The F5 COMBIVERT drive is designed to handle the most difficult applications worldwide and is available up to 1,200 Hp. The F5 platform is extremely flexible and offers configurable safety options, heatsinks, encoder interfaces, and communication ports.

KEB R6 & Magnetek Regen - REgen Drive

KEB R6 regen units use advanced power electronics and a proprietary control algorithm called Natural Current Modulation (NCM) to commutate current back to the grid. When paired with a VFD in overhauling applications, the R6 regen drive replaces traditional braking resistors.

The R6 & Regen units are part of Elements Green Initiative. Helping buildings reduce their carbon footprint one ride at a time.

OverSpeed Governors

The overspeed governor used in conjunction with under car mounted rail safety devices are mechanically operated units which will prevent the elevator from falling uncontrollably.

Hollister Whitney 207

The Hollister-Whitney 207 Overspeed Governor is designed and built to meet both ASME A17.1 and CSA specifications. Each Governor is tested, preset and sealed at the factory and comes with a selection of standard equipment.

We also offer a range of Tension Weight assemblies specifically designed to match and complement each governor model.

Delco Governors

Available in 100FPM, 150FPM, 200FPM, 250FPM, 300FPM, 350FPM, 400FPM and 500FPM.

All models are code compliant, come with rope retainer, full guard and base support as well as a CSA approved limit switch.

Wittur

The Wittur OL35 detect overspeed by their flyweight mechanism and engages the safety gear on the entire circumference of brake mechanism,

Simple mechanical design and remote control makes them a save and economic choice not only for machine room but also for machine rootless applications,

 

Deflector Sheave

Deflector Sheaves are used to provide additional spacing for rope drops. These units are typically installed in difficult to maintain locations, thus during large modernization projects these sheaves are moved to the machine room where they can be easily retained and maintained.

Deflector Sheave

Hollister-Whitney produces sturdy, well-engineered sheaves which have consistently been the industry’s favorites for several decades. Our range features car, counterweight, overhead and deflector sheaves that include steel shafts, bearings, support blocks and mounting hardware as standard.

 

Emergency Brakes

The emergency brake is a secondary redundant device used to prevent unintended motion of the elevator. Most geared applications will unitize a rope gripper similar to the one shown below. In most gearless applications the machines will have 2 separate brakes acting as the unintended motion safety device.

Elevators can have dozens of miles in wiring, Element works with world leading suppliers to make sure our electrical wiring will last for the entirety of the elevator lifespan.

Raceways

We use local supplier and manufacture AVT for their high quality raceways. Raceways are used to safely run electrical wiring within the hoistway and machine room.

Electrical equipment is important within any system and making sure we using robust, high quality products is key to our products.

Car Wire ropes

The life line of the elevator, our elevators use the best quality, proven wire ropes. the standard elevator safety ratio is set to 10:1. Element uses extremely high quality IWRC and seale 8x19 wire ropes.

Governor Wire Ropes

Governor wire ropes are essential in case of emergency situations, they are used with governors (typically located in the machine room) and car safeties (located underneath the elevator).

 

Component Guarding

Safety and personnel protection has been paramount to our industry. The importance in providing a clean, safe machine room for anyone entering restricted areas is vital. During a modernization, new construction or special project these types of guards are installed in the machine room.

Isolation Transformers

Some elevators require step up or step down transformers to properly operate. Element uses tried and true tested transformers manufactures which provides long lasting, reliable solutions for any application.

Isolation Transfomers

HPS offers three phase autotransformers for applications where voltage isolation is not necessary, but some level of voltage adjustment is required. They are frequently used as an economical alternative to three phase general purpose distribution transformers to adjust the supply voltage to match specific load requirements when load isolation from the supply line is not required.

Autotransformers can be used as either a step-up or step-down transformer.

 

Cleaning

Our projects, modernization, maintenance and new constructions, come with a full hoistway clean down, and paint job. Most elevator shafts are not cleaned in decades. We go the extra mile and clean everything from top to bottom.

Cleaning and Painting

Aside from simply vacuuming the shaft we also scrape the rails and make sure they are perfectly clean and ready for roller guides.

We will also paint the machine room and pit areas, to show a beautiful like new look.
